<p>Data entry and manual processes around documenting work at the Point of Maintenance has been challenging
for the A/C MX community</p>
<p>BRICE, a web application developed by BESPIN, provides live, real-time information updates to crew chiefs
on the flightline with the goals of improving documentation capabilities and data accuracy, increasing
flightline efficiency, and offering a better user experience than traditional legacy systems.</p>
<p>“In the past, crew chiefs have had to document maintenance using paper forms on the flightline and then
transfer that information into a maintenance data system via a computer terminal at the end of their
shift. This often leads to data inaccuracy due to lost context or fatigue,” said BRICE Delivery Manager
Lt. Rob Williams.</p>
<p>Previously only available at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, as of Friday, March 20th BRICE is now
available to flight crews at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.</p>
<p>The team building BRICE based out of Montgomery, Alabama is part of the Air Force Software Factory
BESPIN. BESPIN’s mission is to use research, design, and technology to help organizations create
exceptional experiences and enduring solutions for Airmen. The BRICE development team is composed of six
Airmen, one government civilian and five teammates from BESPIN vendor partners Fearless and
Skylight.</p>
<p>This application deployment to Davis-Monthan was released as BESPIN teams moved to full remote work in
the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. While this is a new experience working from home for the immediate
future, this doesn't stop BESPIN'S BRICE member, Lt. Williams to continue work with his teammates to
ensure the BRICE application is deployed to Davis-Monthan.</p>
<p>“We’ve had experience with remote ops for several months now with teammates working out of both
Montgomery, Al and Baltimore, Md,” Williams said. “We’re sticking to the same ceremony/pairing cadences
to maintain steady and familiar work habits.”</p>
<p>Looking ahead to the rest of 2020, BRICE will be expanding to more bases and new features and
capabilities will be added.</p>

to innovate mobile capabilities and to deploy the first agile
continuous delivery platform into Cloud One. The team first went
through enablement bootcamps with Pivotal Labs in Atlanta, GA and
then in November of 2019, the team relocated back to BESPIN HQ in
Montgomery, AL.

innovation office BESPIN, ACC MAJCOM, and the vendor company
Skylight.
