The Ironbank value stream is designed to self-service processes related to Container Hardening. Application's are hardened by DoD standards by taking an application and placing it into a DoD approved base image. The application is then scanned and justifications are sent to the AF CSO for approval. Once approved, the application will be listed on the Ironbank website for consumption.
## Definition of Application
An application to be hardened will need to meet the following requirements:
1. Access to source code is limited by one of the following:
* Source code is not available from the vendor
* Source code is available but is not owned by DoD (i.e. FOSS applications, third-party vendors, etc)
2. Resultant images must be publicly accessible. Any vendor who does not wish for the hardened images to be publicly available cannot be onboarded at this time.
3. Applications must be a supported release from the vendor or opensource community.
