@michaelmcleroy Preface this with, this is a common thing I see and not directly related to your MR but I keep meaning to bring it up...

This might just be me but I think it's helpful to have the MR maker link relevant MRs for these tag bumps. Sometimes it can take a lot of digging to see what changed with a tag bump and I like to make sure we're not sneaking in a mess of stuff in these MRs.

Thoughts on "mandating" that package MRs are linked in every BB MR (or minimally linking issues, which should already have the package MRs linked)? Saves us time digging through the package to find the relevant MRs and easier to "see whats behind the curtain" for a simple tag bump. Also makes it more transparent when we're doing lumps of multiple issues/package MRs in one single BB MR, which we've been trying to move away from per last retro.
