Upgrade Notices

• Customer should review the Prometheus 3.0 migration guide
• Breaking change: This MR jumps to Prometheus 3.1; in Prometheus 3.0 The implicit fallBackScraper protocol has been removed in the event issues with a ServiceMonitor returning invalid data. This seems to have only affected the gitlab-exporter in Big Bang see upstream issue
  • We have an MR here to re-add the fallBackScrape protocol as a post render as a work around.
  • Also worth noting, that we attempted to resolve this previously; but for unknown reasons Dog Food still has issues with this post render, though we've tested it thoroughly locally. We ended up rolling back Big Bang to Prometheus v2 in order to get a release out on time.
