Request: repository split
As a vendor; Virtualitics will need to maintain older versions of these products, alongside newer versions.
So, we'd like to have each of the following repositories 'split' on a per-version basis. We do want each versioned repository to target the same registry URL, (if that's possible; I assume that that is done via the name
attribute of the hardening manifest).
Each of the following repositories should be affected:
- Virtualitics/License_Management/client_license_management
- Virtualitics/License_Management/iviz_licensing
- Virtualitics/Predict/predict-frontend
- Virtualitics/Predict/predict-backend
- Virtualitics/Platform/Explore
- Virtualitics/Platform/telemetry
Each one of these repositories needs a 114, 116, 117, and 118 version; designated as a suffix. (same way opensource/python, and redhat/ubi work). This is 24 new repositories.
example:
- Virtualitics/License_Management/client_license_management114
- Virtualitics/License_Management/iviz_licensing114
- Virtualitics/Predict/predict-frontend114
- Virtualitics/Predict/predict-backend114
- Virtualitics/Platform/Explore114
- Virtualitics/Platform/telemetry114
- Virtualitics/License_Management/client_license_management116
- Virtualitics/License_Management/iviz_licensing116
- Virtualitics/Predict/predict-frontend116
- Virtualitics/Predict/predict-backend116
- Virtualitics/Platform/Explore116
- Virtualitics/Platform/telemetry116
(etc)
The more complicated matter, is that we will need to initialize each NEW repository against the last commit with that version tag (as specified in the hardening manifest). If that's possible. (for the 118 ones, we should probably use the latest 1.17.0.0 commit, since we haven't begun the 1.18 ironbank release cycle yet).
For each new repository, we should also be set up with permissions in VAT ahead of time (I recall that seems to be a separate process), so we're not delayed chasing down getting permissioned for 24 individual new repositories.
For each initial non-versioned repository, I have created an issue and pasted this text, so progress can be tracked.
Thanks.
